Looking to make an impact on children this year through volunteering? SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) is an early childhood education program open to all homeless children in the Houston area.
SEARCH Homeless Services is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless families. While the adults are creating more opportunities for themselves by utilizing work opportunities, job training and various classes, HTT is making sure their children are well taken care of and getting a head start on education.
Providing meals, play therapy, education and intensive art play, HTT strives to break the cycle of homelessness by providing a place their children can go and be prepared for kindergarten.
HTT is comprised of early childhood educators and other child education professionals to build cognitive skills along with self assurance. The program serves 32 children, while also providing 75% of their nutritional needs. Whether you want to read to kids, provide meals to toddlers, or try out some new crafts, giving these young minds a head start could be the right for you. SEARCH also needs volunteers for their kitchen, various drives and administrative duties.
To get involved, head over to their website and fill out a Volunteer Inquiry Form. Every helping hand makes a difference, start changing lives today!
