If you’re constantly looking for specific volunteer work, a great source is Volunteer Houston. It allows volunteers, donors and advocates to be paired with organizations in their communities.
They also list organizations in needs of extra help, and special events around Houston. The helpful filter also makes it easy for you to choose specific volunteer needs and hours. Lending a hand to others couldn’t be made easier by this wonderful resource.
Have your own favorite place to volunteer? We’d love to hear more about it in the comments below!

I can suggest the local shelters, food banks, and church organizations. Even if you are not a member of their congregations, most churches can use your help. Also, if caring for children is important to you, CASA is always in need of good, dependable volunteers. http://texascasa.org/
My name is Luz I have two daughters Nicolle (13 y.o.) and Annie (12 y.o.). We are looking for some volunteer opportunities around our community. I would like to see if there is something for us to do over the summer in your organization. Please let me know if we can help there.

We are so pleased to hear from you! We recommend calling to local charities and asking if they need help! Also, local libraries, animal shelters, and even community gardens are great places to begin! Your daughters are sure to have an amazing story to tell when they return to school!
