Supporting education in Houston is a major key to helping this city experience growth and wealth. The generation graduating high school in the next few years are our future leaders, business owners, and workers.
Since 1981, the Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston has been providing funds to deserving high school graduating seniors and college students so they may further their education.
Upon establishment, one of their major goals was to set up a $100,000 Permanent Endowment Fund, and they are excited to announce that they have finally achieved their goal this year. However, they’d love to continue giving back and add to their total of more than $350,000 awarded scholarships.
Along with many other events throughout the year, the IEACF will be hosting their 34th Annual Scholarship Luncheon & Fashion Show Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Hilton Americas Houston at 2 pm. They are currently accepting donations for a silent auction to be held at the event and will have many vendors attending. You’ll be able to check out handbags, jewelry, art and clothing from local artists and designers here in Houston, as well as meet a few local authors who will be in attendance, all while supporting a great cause.
The entire event will be a celebration of education opportunities for Houston teens, and they will be awarding the scholarships at the luncheon itself. They’ll also be celebrating local Houston communities, artists, authors and designers in their amazing fashion show and silent auction.
It’s important to get your tickets early for this event and they can be purchased from their website. You can also make constant contributions to the IEACF by shopping through AmazonSmile, a program from Amazon that helps you give back to charity while you shop. Put the 34th Annual Scholarship & Fashion Show on your schedule and check back with the IEACF for more updates!
