The American Liver Foundation is inviting you out to help raise liver health awareness and fundraising at The Liver Walk Houston 2014 on Saturday, April 26th, 2014.
Our liver is a major organ that we depend on to help us in our everyday lives. It helps process everything we do, including what we drink, eat and breathe. Our livers break down necessary nutrients for energy that our bodies need, while filtering bad substances from our blood.
About 30 million Americans are affected by liver disease, with nearly 100 different types of liver diseases affecting women, men and children of every age, economic background, and ethnicity. It is one of the few cancers that are on the rise.
Be a part of this wonderful national event and join over 15,000 people from coast to coast who are committing to walking in their cities or make a donation. Every dollar amount is welcomed and is greatly appreciated. You and many others are helping raise awareness, research funds, and financial support for millions who are suffering with liver disease.
This walk will take place in at Macgregor Park, 5225 Calhoun, Houston, Texas 77021 with registration beginning at 8:30 am and the 5K/1K Walk starting at 10:00am.
Volunteers are needed to coordinate the event as well. For more ways that you can make a difference and to register to participate in the The Liver Life Walk Houston 2014, please visit the link below!
