Are you an animal lover that enjoys helping out our Houston community? This summer you can turn your passion into some fun as the Houston Zoo has several different volunteer options for everyone!
Adult volunteers who are accepted into the program get to perform tasks such as a keeper aide, a docent, an education program assistant and a variety of guest services. College students can also apply for the internship opportunities in areas such as horticulture, education, marketing, conservation and more.
There are both summer and winter programs for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17, and group volunteer programs are available for schools, businesses and groups of all kinds, ages start at 13 and up. Remember to keep checking the volunteer website due to the limited amount of time that teen volunteers are accepted. It really is a great opportunity to get a look at different career options that the Houston Zoo offers.
Volunteers at the Houston Zoo become more than just a helping hand; they become family as many have been volunteering for more than 10 years. Get a head start on filling out an application, the spots will fill up fast! Have you been to the Houston Zoo lately? What’s your favorite exhibit?
